 Discount Dental Plans
Discount dental plans are not considered insurance products. They are an arrangement where you will receive a reduced or discounted fee for all services at a participating dentist. Some plans do include free cleanings, x-rays and other preventive services.
Discount dental plans are probably the best value in dental coverage. I use one for myself and my family. Of course, the challenge, as with any type of health or dental plan is to find a participating provider that you like.
Let me list some of the advantages and disadvantages of discount dental plans for you.

There are no waiting periods and all pre-existing problems are covered. |

There are dozens of different plans to choose from. Some with large national networks. |

There are no plan limits. The discount is for an unlimited amount of work. |

An employer can offer it to employees for a very low monthly fee |

When combined with an indemnity plan, this hybrid is usually a better value than a PPO dental plan. |

You must find a participating provider. Your current dentist may not accept the plan. |

Specialists are usually covered at a flat 20% discount. |

Not all parts of the country have provider coverage. |

You must pay your dentist at time of service. |

If you cannot find your dentist on any of the plans we offer, it simply means that your dentist does not accept any of the plans we offer. There is nothing we can do except tell you to find a new dentist.
